Aamer Taher studied architecture at the National University of Singapore (where he has also been a architectural design tutor) and at the Architectural Association, London. He established Aamer Taher Design Studio in Singapore in 1994, and later, Aamer Architects specifically for architectural projects. Taher’s work has ranged from interior and landscape design to master planning. Aamer Architects has completed many bungalows in Singapore, and is currently undertaking commercial projects in Malaysia and Cambodia. The firm designed a school in the Maldives as part of the Tsunami Relief efforts initiated by the Singapore Government, and, in collaboration with other firms, it is involved in design consultancy work on larger projects in Singapore and elsewhere. Aamer Architects also carries out charity work within the Singapore community, such as the design of a shelter home for abused women.
