Israel’s Story Gardens: Where Words Come Alive

Holon in Israel, also known as the City of Children conceived a unique environmental sculpture project in September 2011, in which leading artists created landscape sculptures inspired by popular Israel children’s stories. This exhibition will provide a glimpse into Holon’s brilliant Story Gardens project, which pays tribute to art and literature – bringing stories to life in a garden setting. A special indoor garden will be created within the National Library, with mini-sculptures of characters inspired by treasured children’s stories from Israel, on display within this open space. Children will be able to enjoy Hebrew-translated storytelling sessions and craft activities, while adults can get an insight into the design and concept of the gardens in Holon and a behind-the-scenes look at the sculpture installation.
